Just returned a few days ago from the prestigious Cherry Hills Country Club in Denver. The PGA championship golf tournament was sponsored by BMW and the players were the 70 best golfers in the world. I came to help from an invitation from my friend Chef Craig Peterson, who I have known for many years, he planed for this event for over a year. Logistics, menus, purchasing, storage and staffing are five of the main components that need to be organized and carefully planned for in order to execute such a huge event. We started cooking in the morning as early as 3:30 and finished after 7:00 at night. The tournament lasted for 6 days and was grueling work but crazy fun that only those who like to cook for thousands can love. For my part I expedited the hot food for 6 dining rooms for breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks without any turn around time between breakfast and lunch. What a rush!!! The crew of the club was great to work with and displayed a professional demeanor during extremely stressful meal times. I also met some other guest chefs who were brought in to help and made some new friends. IMG_20140901_075642
